A Heart for Serving Others
This morning I started my day giving thanks for my family and my health and the blessings I have. Then I began reflecting on the position of my heart. Am I helping out those in need when I see someone struggling? Am I supporting those in my life and my community and enhancing their well-being? How can I improve the way I love on those around me, those I already love, and those I don’t even know?
This was not at first a thought about Artful Home Care or my business approach; it was a personal reflection on the way I live personally, day to day. I do desire to see people live a life that is a blessing for themselves and others. I desire to see justice served and people provided for when struggling. I also desire to see humanity embrace one another, to live with the idea of serving others, at the heart of what each of us do.
So today, as I ask myself, I ask you, is your heart attitude one of serving others? Of giving of your time to make someone else happy and supported? Are you putting your personal desires aside and taking the distractions or circumstances around you as a gift and a way toward helping someone else feel valued, and in turn inspiring them to help others as well?
Whether you are a family caregiver or professional caregiver, someone in need of care, or friend who knows how much someone needs you, reach out, take the time, call and check in, stop by, ask what you can do for someone, and not because you should, but because your heart is guiding you to! Let’s lead with love and lead others to lead with love, too!
Wishing you a beautiful summer and a wonderful Independence Day on this 250th anniversary of our country!
God bless America!
